The date is just an approximation. The only thing we can say for sure is that this picture was made during pre-casino days.
Belgum Sanitorium

Dr. Tewskberry owned the land that is now Alvarado Park and much of Wildcat Canyon. In 1914 he established this facility for his daughter as a quiet place for rest and recuperation. Other occupants often included people of wealthy families of the East Bay and San Francisco. The Sanitorium was located about a half mile east of Wildcat Creek Trail, south of the Alvarado Staging Area. All that remains today are some palm trees, fragments of concrete garden walls, and a placard commemorating the site.
