This and the following images were generated using the Orthophoto Viewer, available from the City of Richmond's Mapping Services, City of Richmond from the Air. Orthophoto Viewer is an internet-based mapping application which allows city staff and the public to access online maps using standard web browsers (Internet Explorer for the Macintosh is not supported.)
Orthophoto Viewer enables a user to select an area, zoom in or out, and choose layers of additional data (e.g., streets and parks). The Viewer also provides a tool for accurately measuring distance along any selected path. Optical resolution is outstanding. At maximum magnification, you can easily see if you happened to be standing in your yard on the day the images were recorded.
The images reproduced here were recorded in 2000. They represent a small sample of what is possible using Orthophoto Viewer.
